I got the Special Edition Steelbox which contains a bonus DVD with interviews and behind-the-scenes material. The DVD wasn't really worth the extra money, though there were some interresting clips, like when they showed how they recorded the in-game cinematics but it was mostly pretty boring. The box however is really nice compared to the regular 360's keep cases (no 360 logo and all that).

When I first started playing the controls were a little funky. I was used to playing Far Cry 2, and they handle a bit differently, obviously, from having a different perspective and all. (Which i would later find out again when I picked up FC2 again....jikes!).

Knowing the difficulties of previous games, I started playing on the easiest setting, just to get a feel for the game. Sadly with that, the only things I had real problems with were the bosses and mini-bosses. The rest was pretty straight forward.

Something that bugged me was the lack of challenging pussles. That's what I really liked about the older instalments, that you have to look for clues and use your wits to get by. Here, the most challenging pussle is to find a lever for your partner and tell her to get ready to use it, while you go look for a lever of your own. Piece of cake.

Ammunition isn't really an issue when playing on the easiest setting. At least not when you play with an AI controlled Sheva. I played through the game with a friend and I could swear we used up more ammo. I'm thinking Sheva preserves ammo better than any of us did. ;D

The last few weeks I've been playing Far Cry 2 with my friends at work, and we mostly play the multiplayer-mode called Capture the Diamond.

At first I thought the control was dodgy, I've never been able to play FPS's on a console with any successful aiming and so I've always thought it was pretty lame. But after a few hours of playing (and countless more hours of whining) I'm starting to get the hang of it, and it's now a lot of fun.

Me and my friends have teamed up under the name 'Quiet Apes'. Dunno where the name came from really, one of the guys just blurted it out and we agreed it was an ok name to use. My suggestion was 'Farting Solids'... Dunno which is better. xD

If you meet someone called 'II qa II Mangek', that's me. Wave and I'll give you a cookie. Or laugh at my still rather poor aim. :)

Edit: I'm now called 'qa oOo mangek', in case you were looking..

My brother and two of my co-workers bought FarCry2 the other day (one got it for the PS3, sigh). and after having tried it (and also from one of my co-workers bullying me), I decided to buy it myself. As I don't have an awesome computer (well, if I could just get new RAM, a better cpu and a new gfx card...) I got it for the Xbox 360. As I don't have an Xbox 360, I had to order one of those as well. Yip yip.

The game looks really pretty. The African savanna and jungles have been heaps of fun to destroy, mostly by grenades or Molotov cocktails as I haven't acquired a flamethrower just yet. It's just a shame that the fires don't spread as much as they ought to; the ground is dry most of the time, we should have massive massive forest fires. But no, they burn for a little while, spread to maybe double the initial impact spot, and then....go out. Meh.

One of the first quests I obtained were by a man with a tape recorder. He apparently give tapes away to a bunch of other people, who then destroy them (or so I understood it), but when he saw that I was "new" he babbled on a bit before giving me another quest, finishing with the line "I meant what I said about the tapes". I walked around the room a bit, and he kept repeating that line. "I meant what I said about the tapes.........."

I got it already, lets talk about something new...
